I have to add something here, being a white girl former clubbie queen from the late 80s: she is actually sampling two legends, the first thing you hear is AfroRican, then comes the JJFad!
Thanks for spreading the classic coolness. A recent story ran about MC Lyte, who was cited for being a female breakthrough rapper, but truly JJ Fad and people like Shelly Thunder beat her to the punch.
